Phinisi
Today I visited a small village in South Sulawesi called TANABERU where Phinisi are build better known as Bugis-Schooner or Makassar-Schooner. The contruction of the wooden ships under Palmtrees directly on the shore can be seen in original and the very friendly peoples invite to watch their work.
Nowadays Phinisi are still sailing to so many places in the Indonesian Archipelago and I could see them loading and unloading at Makassar Paotere, at Surabaya and at Sunda Kelapa/Jakarta.
